The future of spa sustainability
Shanti had a big dream. After being frustrated by using cotton towels in her esthetics and waxing practice, she knew there had to be a better way. While cotton towels decompose at a reasonable rate, the amount of waste was quickly stacking up in the skincare industry. She began the hunt to find something more reusable, sustainable and to her surprise... nothing existed. If she wanted to use something, she'd need to make it herself. After dozens fabrication tests, she had the right material, texture and shape. A silky-soft, silicone mat that can be warmed, molded and tucked for a comforting experience during massages, waxing treatments and facials.

Our starting point & project requirements
When we first met with Shanti, she had logos, packaging and ideas ready to go. Although we were initially engage to create a website, the project quickly grew. As the new aesthetic came together, her dream of an earthy, grounded base (with a touch of luxury) was better than she could have dreamed. The colors were warmed up from her initial selections, incorporating warm flesh tones and terracottas to the otherwise cool palette. Secondary illustrations range from patterns created from the brand icon to textures on postcards. All elements infuse movement and flow through the system.

Accelerating market adoption
Because DuraVie was a completely new product in the market, we knew photography would be a key aspect to helping audiences understand exactly what it was and how to use it. While the designers in us wanted to explore abstract images of the velvety texture and light reflection, our business brains knew that clear images of using the product were the best for industry adoption. Additionally, educational blog posts and social media reach would play a key role in reach. Our shot list ranged from extensive product photography, folding techniques, lifestyle, headshots, cleaning techniques and more. This will enable Shanti to market for years to come. (of course, our resident office sheltie was more than happy to help with the shoot).

The product website
We needed to create a beautiful, but simple website for ordering products (both consumer and wholesale) and support continued growth for years to come. Shanti had experience using Shopify, so platform was an easy choice.
